While Government was shutdown, HRSA releases November CICP statistics
No new compensation, just many dismissals. Who is running this program?
While the Federal Government was closed for portions of October and November, non-essential staff from HHS, HRSA were sent home.
However, HRSA still publishes monthly statistics for both months. That begs the question, who is doing this work? A federal contractor perhaps?
Yet the horrible news of no compensation awards. Just dismissals. Below is a chart of activity comparing cumulative petition filings with dismissals.
compensated petitions have flatlined at 41 for a few months. Could not chart them with the above data. The line would have covered the 0 graph.
As a resident of Minnesota (15 years), I am reminded of a quote from Hubert H. Humphrey:
“The moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the needy and the handicapped.”
Since the beginning days of the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (NVICP - 1986) and the CounterMeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP - 2010), our nation has turned its back on those who have been injured from a vaccine or countermeasure.
Remember this when you talk to others regarding our government, when you talk to elected officials.

Wayne, 1) thanks for sharing this work!
2) do we have any more data on why these are getting dismissed?
Awareness into this process can shed light and strengthen the case for more approvals.
This is something young lawyers should be looking at.
Interested in your thoughts if any.
Great to see we the VERITAS tellers are here till the end what ever that may be. Bobby Martin bobby23martin@gmail.com
