We are definitely living in strange times. Lots of confusion by our elected leaders.
And from Public Health Officials, federal and state, a misinformation campaign designed to mislead and confuse the public. Their goal, to have the public give up and defer all medical and health decisions to the so called “experts”.
In a song from the group Genesis, "Land of Confusion" the lyrics question the wisdom of world leaders at a time when the US and Russia were enemies and there was a threat of nuclear war.
Have we entered a parallel world whereas our governments are at war, not from other nations, but from those who question their actions and motives?
Last week, the US Government, specifically the FDA, announced the full approval of Pfizer-BioNTech’s “Comirnaty” vaccine. The oddness of the name lead many to mispronounce the name. I had a lot of trouble so I just renamed it Cinderella.
The confusion came after the announcement. And for a few days, it did create confusion plus many questions regarding the motivation of the announcement.
For one, the approval announcement was promoted by our government and public health officials as a very safe and effective vaccine. Yet, the approved vaccine would not be made available for some time, probably several weeks if not months. The approved vaccine has not been manufactured.
Did the FDA announce the approval knowingly Pfizer will not be able to ship the new vaccine, but hopefully to convince many who have been hesitant about the EUA designation, to get the shot?
Second, the FDA in their letter to Pfizer informing of the full approval, stated that the EUA vaccine and Cinderella could be interchangeable. Yet to add confusion, FDA and Pfizer went a step further and stated the two vaccines are “legally distinct”.
So they can be interchangeable for administration yet legally distinct. I am confused.
To help pierce the fog of confusion, I will leave you with my closing statement from the Right On Point podcast.
